Empreinte Éthérée is a niche perfume house founded by Nathalie Durand, a perfumer specializing in bespoke fragrances and olfactory therapy. Her main studio is located in Anglet, just five minutes from Biarritz and in the immediate vicinity of Bayonne and Saint-Jean-de-Luz. Whether you are a native of the Basque Country, a resident of the Basque Coast, or visiting Biarritz as a tourist, the studio is easily accessible.
Beyond learning the craft of perfumery, it is a precious interlude where you take the time to listen to yourself, discover your own olfactory tastes, and compose a fragrance that truly reflects who you are. An experience accessible to everyone, from complete beginners to knowledgeable enthusiasts.
Each workshop follows a pedagogical progression designed to help you understand the fundamentals of perfumery before composing your own formula. You first discover the perfumer’s organ—the unit housing the essences and raw materials—and explore the major olfactory families: floral, woody, citrus, and oriental.
You learn to recognize the top, heart, and base notes that structure a fragrance, much like a musical score. Once familiar with the raw materials, you begin composing your own formula, guided by Nathalie, who tailors her advice to your personal sensibilities.
At the end of the workshop, you leave with your creation in a bottle, and a few days later, Nathalie sends you a few photos as a memento of your visit.
The workshop lasts two and a half hours for the Discovery perfume creation Workshop, and is limited to a maximum of five participants Haute Parfumerie Workshop to ensure personalized guidance.
The Discovery Workshop is an immersive introduction lasting approximately two and a half hours. ou will discover the perfumer’s craft, the secrets of production and formulation, and the raw materials that make up the perfumer’s organ.
At the end of the workshop, you leave with your own creation in a 30 ml bottle; prices start at €95 per person.Haute Parfumerie workshop is an invitation to experience a sensory and introspective moment, away from prying eyes and the hustle and bustle, where time seems to stand still.
You compose your own creation alongside Nathalie and take your perfume home in a 50 ml bottle, and a bottle of 30 ml. A precious interlude for discerning connoisseurs and passionate enthusiasts alike.
